The Women in Defense Greater Boston Chapter (WID-GBC) and National Defense Industrial Association, New England (NDIA NE) held their first annual STEM event with the University of Massachusetts Lowell on April 6, 2022.  The event included UML students and WID/NDIA members from industry, academia, and government. The event began with an interactive networking session led by the Vice President of STEM for WID-GBC  and then proceeded to a dinner and lightning talks by six women speakers who shared career highlights and their recommendations to students on what to do to have a successful career.  The Dean of the College of Business from UML also gave some encouraging remarks to all the attendees.  There were ten sponsors for the event which included: STR, BAE Systems, McCarter & English, Seica US, Mitre, Galvion, Odyssey, Beacon, National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Boston, and Activate.  WID-GBC, NDIA NE and UML are extremely grateful to all the support from the attendees,  sponsors and the planning committee. This STEM event will be held next year during engineering week and WID-GBC and NDIA NE look forward to awarding scholarships to the UML students.
